I called Nanny this avie to see how the meeting went, only to be told she never had the meeting as the Principal had left for the day at 13h00 when she finally arrived at the school. She has been instructed to stay there until Monday and see him then. But her son is starting exams on Monday. WTF??!!
I sent her the number I had and asked her to get in touch with the man over the weekend.
This is ridiculous, it’s driving me nuts!
Poor, poor Nanny. Unfortunately I’m not surprised. BTW in response to some of the comments on your previous post, in my work I am often in contact with schools and it is NOT unusual for rural schools to have no landline. Many have no electricity or running water either.
I hope this gets sorted out. He’s come this far, not to finish would be a terrible thing. I also hope that getting drunk was a once off thing. Holding thumbs for nanny.
Can’t be easy for nanny, since she is not around and can’t truly know where her son’s behaviour is at fault, and where the school is. How can he do his best in exams with this tension anyway?
sjoe, I hope she reaches him this weekend
Jeez…this is one hectic story. I really hope that the issue can be resolved so that he can write his exams without this tension. And btw…I think that it is illegal to just suspend/expell a child without some kind of hearing.
xx
What a terrible situation. I hope she manages to get it sorted out.
